Piercing Piercing Experiences Facial & Oral Eyebrow Piercing

I got my eyebrow pierced about 5 months ago. I'm not sure why I didn't submit my story when I originally got it done, or why I'm doing it at all now considering my experience is just like the rest.

Anyway, my fascination with eyebrow piercings all started at the age of 8. I saw someone walking down the street sporting a ring in his brow. My instant reaction was, "mom, I want one!" At that point I had already had my lobes pierced twice on each ear, so I was rather confused as to why my mom said no. I am now glad though that she wouldn't let me at that point, nor do I think anyone would have pierced me at that age regardless.

The begging and pleading went on for about another 6 years until I discovered BME. Now at the age of 14, I rummaged through the experiences, pictures, info, and pretty much read everything I could possible get my hands on regarding this piercing. I showed my parents everything that I had researched in hope of it convincing them to sign the release form for me. It took another 6 months after all that before my parents decided to finally give in. The conditions for that though would be that I didn't even mention the word piercing for 2 years after I got my eyebrow done. Hesitantly, I nodded my head in agreement and we were on our way to get pierced.

I decided to go to Bee Cool after visiting there a couple times before and talking to the people working there. I felt comfortable with the place and heard good feedback on it. The entire way there my knees were trembling I was so nervous. I had already had 14 ear piercings but they were all done either by me, or with a gun. The thought of a needle pushing through my skin frightened me.

Once I got there I met up with a couple friends. One of them was getting an industrial done (which he ended up having to wait for), and another was getting her rook pierced. She was in the middle of getting her rook pierced when I walked in the doors. While waiting for my turn I picked out a 16 gauge curved barbell for my eyebrow. I talked to Rob for a little bit prior to getting pierced and calmed my nerves down a bit.

It was now time for me to head to the back room. I slowly walked back there thinking oh my god; I'm actually getting pierced! I sat down in the "dentist-like" chair as Rob explained to me the procedure. At that point, two of my friends came in for moral support. Rob then put two dots on my eyebrow, held up a mirror and asked for my approval. I told him that it looked right. He then told me to breathe in and out deeply so I did so. The next thing I know I could feel the needle pushing through each layer of skin in my eyebrow. I definitely felt it happening, but it didn't really hurt all that much. After that he put the jewelry in. Rob held up the mirror once again and asked me what I thought. I instantly fell in love with it as a big smile spread across my face. Next, I was told all the proper cleaning instructions and given some bactine. It was now time for my picture to be taken to add to the 'piercing book'. I stood against the wall as Rob got all ready with the camera. He made sure to include some of my purple hair in the picture because he thought it was the coolest thing ever (and has ever since that day back in July). I then paid $80 ($35 for the piercing, $45 for the jewelry). We all said our good-byes and carried on our way home.

My eyebrow never did noticeably swell up. I was also able to sleep on it the first night of getting it done and I never once had any crusties or discharge. I religiously cleaned it twice a day with bactine and continued to do so for quite some time. I now still clean it fairly often, just not as much so as I used to. The barbell has gotten caught on clothing a few times, along with getting my hair tangled on it, but it wasn't anything major. Another concern that a lot of people have with this piercing is the silver glare out of the corner of your eye. I admit that I can see the barbell with my left eye and it does glare off of some things like televisions, but it isn't distracting nor would it discourage me from this piercing. The only problem I've had with my eyebrow would be about 3 months after getting it pierced I was wrestling with some of my friends, it got tugged on a bit, and started bleeding. I cleaned up the blood and by the next morning it was good as new.
